In the sixties, black Americans were not allowed to vote , because the segregation was legalized and black and whites peoples were seperated at school, restaurant, toilet, bus, and more. Black peoples had to sit on the floor in cinemas , let their chairs and obey to whites people.
When Ann Nixon Cooper was younger, she probably had to did this chooses.
Finally, the segregation was abolished in 1960.
