Freedom is the quality of individuals being able to control their own actions. Different liberties articulate the relationship between individuals and the society in
different ways. Some concepts relate to the life within a social community, and therefore define the active exercice of freedom and rights that have become essential to us.
Understanding our freedom involves how we imagine, and structure our individual roles and responsibilities in our society in terms of our free will and our determination.
When we talk about our freedom, we also talk about our civil rights. Though the scope of the term differs among various countries, some examples of civil liberties include the freedom from slavery and forced labor, freedom from torture and death, the right to liberty and security, freedom of conscience, religion, expression, press,
assembly and association, speech, the freedom of privacy, the right to an equal treatment and the right to live free. Other freedoms may include the right to own property, the right to defend ourselves.
